What is the IAS BCTA?
The IAS BCTA Programme is a refresher course whose main purpose is to enable students to strengthen their Undergraduate knowledge in preparation for the PGDA Programme.
This course is not an Accredited course; it merely serves as a refresher for students who could have performed better as undergraduates. They would like to enhance their knowledge before attempting the PGDA programme, or those who obtained their degree a few years ago and are not up to date with the changes since getting their degrees.

We offer a Level 1 & Level 2 bridging course to accommodate all students. Every level offers extensive coverage in Financial Accounting, Auditing, Management Accounting & Taxation. Level 1 is an introduction to the world of accounting, and once you pass Level 1, you may join Level 2. Level 2 is available to all students who completed an accredited undergraduate degree a few years ago and would like to refresh their accounting knowledge to prepare for the PGDA programme.
When does the programme run and for how long?
We offer the Bridging Programme over 6 months or a year. We offer a January and a June Intake.

What content will be covered?
The IAS BCTA programme is developed to assist students in refreshing their Undergraduate knowledge and related the relevant updates to the Standards and Legislations. This course covers the relevant content to assist a student in having a solid foundation when entering the PGDA programme. The SAICA syllabus requirements, including the SAICA competency-based framework (CBF), are incorporated into the programme. The IAS BCTA focuses predominantly on those topics not covered in extensive detail in the IAS PGDA programme. However, IAS also provides a database of learning materials geared towards revising the undergraduate issues for all students within the PGDA programme.
